Flying the Flags at Weymouth

They watched the Olympic sailing from a sheltered cove at the end of Wemouth pier.
A free seat in a perfect spot
(she is happy to spill the beans if you want to know where ...!)
Unsure of the rules, they cheered when everyone else did!
Looking across to the splendorous Georgian bay.
Freshly painted, cleaned and made over.
Kiss-me-quick brushed under the carpet.
New deckchairs ...
Mr Punch still entertains ...
Flying the flags for Team GB ...
The atmosphere happy, laden with hope and pride.
Reluctant to leave the party, they headed for the sand,
to watch men of strength and skill.
Sitting on the beach, watching the big screens.
Fish and chips for tea.
Little man happily lost in the reveries of childhood,
playing in the shallow waters,
with bucket and spade.
Good luck Team GB.

Hello Marina:
What a happy time you sound to have had at the seaside. It is positively decades since we were last in Weymouth and it is probably time to revisit. The deckchairs look great fun with all their wacky, retro designs and blue sky and blue sea, lucky you!

Lovely posting. Aren't those deckchairs simply wonderful. There's nothing like a day out at the seaside - Mr. Punch, donkey rides, the Olympics and fish and chips - fabulous!

Looks to me you had one of the best seats in the house. The pictures are gorgeous...blue skies and water. What a thrill it would be to have been there. You must be terribly proud. I think England has done a spot on job of hosting the Olympics! BRAVO!

I've never been to London but I have been to Yorkshire, Leeds, Manchester and Hechmondwich. I loved visiting your wonderful country. :)♥♥

I love the bit about just cheering when everybody else cheers Jane, this does look like a heck of a lot of fun to me, these Olympics are amazing and they really do fill me with a lot of pride. I hope that the sailors can snatch gold, that would be amazing especially after today's gold haul!
