Loving Being 'Mum'

Little man and Mr VJ treated her to a Mothering Sunday treat a day early.  A trip to Street for a little retail therapy.  She bought a bargain dress for a special evening in April.  A little black and sparkly number.
Next, a visit to the reclamation yard and then, the last of the day in nearby Wells.
The Laundry.  A favourite shop.  Strictly browsing only!

Gorgeous upcycled clothing from vintage fabrics.  Funky jewellery and fabulous leather accessories.

The Cathedral never ceases to amaze.

A lovely place to wander.  As the sun tired, the rain slowly arrived, drops bouncing on silvered stone.

They were too late for the market.  In time for pasta and pizza ...

Sunday ... Little Man woke her early with cards and beautiful flowers, and her favourite chocolate bought with his own pocket money.  Teasing her - she has given up chocolate for Lent!  Grandma and Grandpa came for breakfast.  Crispy bacon sandwiches and poached eggs.
Little Man making her very proud as he read in church.
Loving being 'Mum'

Loving her mum.

Hello Marina:
You clearly had a very special time over the weekend with a great many treats. How lovely, and we are so happy for you.

It is far too many years since we were in Wells and so much enjoyed these few glimpses. It really is a most attractive city and the cathedral, as you point out, is of course marvellous.

Sounds like there prefect Mothers Day to me (a reclamation yard, heaven), and how sweet the little man bought your chocolates from his own money, that's so gorgeous.

When we drove to wells, we drove past a church spire, we though thought that was the cathedral until we drove further. Hooley Dooley it is impressive isn't it?

Enjoy your week, and I bed you will look forward to your choccies once you have broken lent, T x

You're little man sounds like the best! I would have loved to been with you at The Laundry and for the sightseeing. All in all I'd say you had the perfect weekend.

And what pray tell are you saving that black sparkly little number for? LOL

sounds fantastic. Much more restful than the "massage" my boys gave me on Sunday morning. The best we can say is they meant well, the thought was there!

Uhhh... Is Mother's day different over where you live? I thought Mother's Day was in May, at least, it is in North America.

A truly good Motherly Day. My mother was just surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She turns 60 end of this month, so has some more surprises coming her way. She doesn't know it yet.
