Making her smile ...

Pale winter sun rising, bathing the room.  Prismatic, rationed light creeping in, illuminating glass and sequin.
Hanging washing in early morning silence, argent light saturating her space.
Glossy waxen Acanthus leaves, flower spikes erupting, reaching skyward.
Forgotten mistletoe, reminding her of Christmas, making her smile.
Little man's pal arrives for late pancake breakfast, followed by a game of chess ... two boys chatting, they made her smile ... a lot.
Winter warming fuel delivery ... him and her in companiable silence, they work it from this ...
to this ...
Kindling buckets full.
Flowers from her Mr the week before, just because, still making her smile.
A lovely evening with Mr & Mrs Riverkeeper.  So good to see you guys - have a great holiday.

Next day, from Mr 'Henry', more wood.  Willow and ash.  When the big freeze arrives, they WILL be warm.
Watching her men with axe and saw.

The mad ten year old ever present kitteny cat, purr resonating.

The important things, the little things ... making her smile.
