The Liebster Award

Hello (she shouts from the rooftops) ... I'm back after a very frustrating time battling with all things computer, of which I now realise I understand very little!

But, how exciting to return and find that I have received an award ... twice!  How grand!

Bestowed upon me by:
1)  the author of the lovely 'In My Wild Eden', a blog of beautiful words and mesmerising images AND
2)  by self confessed collectaholic, sweet Rose of Secondhand Rose

Go have a look at these two fab blogs.  Thanks ladies!

When I first started this blogging malarky, I had no idea if anyone would read it, but I wanted a way of keeping a record of things I had bought along my vintage way and to also keep a little record of our family life.  I was amazed when people started to 'follow' me and must admit to still feeling more than a little embarassed when someone mentions my blog to me in real life!   Anyway ...

About this award:

The word “liebster” means favorite or dearest in German, and the Liebster Award is intended to spotlight up and coming blogs with fewer than 200 followers (this may prove difficult as I don't seem to be able to see how many followers anyone has at the moment!). Upon receiving this Liebster Award, there are a few rules:

1. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
2. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
3. Reveal your top 5 picks for the award.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love to other bloggers.

So, without further ado, here is my list of five blogs that really do bring something special to the blogging world (believe me, this was not an easy choice to make as there are so many fabulously interesting, creative, wise and funny bloggers out there). However, check these out ... I think they deserve it:

Vintage Vampalicious - A glamorous blog written by a 'real life' glam friend, with talent a-plenty.  She sources the most amazing vintage fashion, all available to buy from her blog or online shop!

Mrs Cheese - Never ceases to amaze with the wonderful images and snippets that she manages to source, all mixed in with a little glimpse of her family life.

Fading Grace  -  The lovely Sophie who, in her own words, adores "all things frayed, patched, mended, peeling, scuffed, mossy, pre-loved and faded"!

Flaming Nora  -  Uber talented and oh so funny!  (I'm sure she probably has 1000's of followers but I can't see and I want to nominate her anyway!).

Costume Detail  - Just because.  I love the images, information, simplicity.

Congrats on your award and thanks for following my blog, I followed back and wondered if I'd somehow missed a load of your posts. I get withdrawal symptoms after about 3 hours away from my laptop!

Hello Vintage Jane,
I am on a grand blog tour this morning and found you via country weekend.I love your blog. My eyes are particularly drawn to the picture of The Topping Book for Girls. My boys have a lovely copy of The Dangerous Book for Boys, and I think they would look lovely side by side. Can I have some more information regarding this book please ?

Ah thank you so much, mostly for calling me 'glam' - you wouldn't say that if you could see me this minute wrapped up my hand knitted blanket trying to keep warm. Glad you're back with us - have a fab vintage Christmas, hopefully see you soon xx
