Boxing Day at West Bay ...

Blowing away the cobwebs on her birthday,
walking off the excesses on the windiest of days!
The annual Boxing Day swim cancelled
as it was deemed to dangerous.
Little boats bobbing.
Visibility from the harbour
blurred by wind whipped foam ...
Struggling to stand in the crazy bluster,
shouting over deafening sea crash,
tiny chesil stones carried on the wind stinging her face.
Clouds colliding.

Belated Happy Birthday. It's great being by the sea in all weathers - but not always easy.... Let's hope the rest of the winter is kinder.

It has definitely felt like that here over the past few weeks! It was such a shame the Boxing Day swim was cancelled but it didn't stop so many coming to the Bay. I love the way you have captured the wind, that last image is fabulous! Sarah x

Happy Birthday!!! It looks like very wild weather indeed. Not a cobweb left anywhere I should think! xx

Hiya
Your blog so reminded me of this verse from the John Masefield poem.... X

I must down go to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

The last photo is the most touching. It's so minimalistic with deep meaning.
