Mother Nature asserting herself ...

Wandering along a favourite path,
unvisited for some time ...
A storm wrenched branch ...
or a serpent in the grass?
They marvelled at Mother Nature's ability to reclaim ...
the power she wields when untamed.
A small empty eyed shelter, hirsute with ivy,
will one day submit, sink to it's knees
and be enveloped by the ground on which it once stood ..
They cross gingerly as Billy Goat's Gruff,
mossy skin on rotten timbers,
balanced above a dawdling river ...
Micro garden framed ...
On through whispering leaves ...
... emerging to a house surviving with a little more dignity!

The date function was accidentally turned on when these photos were taken
but was set to the wrong date ... ignore!

YOU are a poet and have beautifully shared a moment in the day of a garden traveler. I especially like that SERPENT in the grass. Lovely manor at the end...mole end, perhaps?

The ‘serpent’ in the grass looks just like something I spotted in a garden centre last week. Three pieces of glazed porcelain in the shape of Nessie the Loch Ness monster – it cost the earth, but I would love it on my lawn.
You really find the nicest walks – hidden pathways and rivers – it all sounds perfect to me. Nature is amazing, there would be no sign of man left on this planet after a disaster, all the buildings, etc., would be gobbled up. Have a lovely weekend. Barbara x
