The Vintage Bazaar Textiles and Costume Market ...

... at the Cheese & Grain, Frome
on Saturday 21st June,
from 9am to 3pm
A 'must visit' for every lover of vintage clothing and textiles.
There will be vintage fashions, textiles galore, buttons, lace,
trimmings, patchworks and so much more.
A mecca for collectors, crafters, stylistas, designers ...
and all lovers of beautiful things.
These beautiful 1950s Maudella patterns will be coming with VJ.
All unused and in great condition.
The Maudella Patten company was founded by Maude Dunsford in 1937,
from the attic of her West Yorkshire home.
She had a talent for adapting the latest trends from top fashion houses,
turning them into easy to make, affordable patterns,
much loved by the style conscious but austerity impeded housewife.

I remember my mother having similar American patterns and she would make her own house dresses and party frocks. How I wish I still had those patterns today!

I love a Maudella pattern - the 1960s ones are fabulously groovy (and quite easy to follow!) Good luck. xxx

These are gorgeous patterns!! I could imagine wearing a dress in one of these as well. Especially the pattern with the green dress on it, I rather like that one, the shoulder details are sweet. Great finds, I hope you enjoy making lovely things with them doll. Happy Wednesday xx

I love the Maud story. That's how it was done in the ole days, come up with an idea and make it work.
I'm not a person who sews but I'm sure they'll be snapped up.

The dresses in those patterns are so beautiful and look very glamorous indeed. I hope that the fair goes well for you and that you have fun. xx

My mum used to wear dresses like those and I have some photos of her in some of them. Beautiful and elegant.

I remember Maudella too, though they were too "grown-up" for me. I recently found some interesting vintage American Folkwear patterns - predictably I sold those for WW1 era clothes in a flash.

Those vintage Maudella patterns are gorgeous! I have a few Maudella ones from the 30s and 40s too, evening dresses mainly, and they are just darling.
Enjoy the Fair!

Those patterns are charming, and boy they brought me back. I used to sew my clothes in high school and for a while after. Wish I never stopped.
