Ups and Downs ...

The past week has been a scary ride.
Little man was admitted to hospital (again) with a severe asthma attack.
After several days of oxygen, steroids and saline drip,
he was finally well enough to come home last night.
He is tired but can once again fill his lungs with life giving air all on his own.
The doctors and nurses at the local hospital were brilliant
and we cannot thank them enough.

Prior to the dash to hospital VJ received two lovely presents ...

The prettiest little hand knit top,
from a lovely friend ...
the super creative and talented Vintage Jones.
She doesn't have a blog but her equally creative daughter does here ...
And flowers delivered to the door,
from a complete stranger (in Canada)!
VJ may tell the tale another day ...
In between the mayhem of the past few weeks,
of illness, and crazy work schedules
and mad house shaking, bone soaking, road closing weather,
she found a pretty, hand painted jug,
that raised a smile ...
and spent a couple of quiet hours making a few cards ...
 lost in thought ...
with a pile of buttons, ribbons, lace and rescued embroidery ...
... and booked a holiday!

It sounds like the holiday is well deserved! There's nothing like a hospital visit to put things in perspective, hope he's feeling fully fit soon. Sarah

Dear Marina - it must have been awful for you to have your son in hospital, but I am pleased to learn that he is now back home safely with you again.
At the moment I think that we are all dreaming of holidays, preferably somewhere that it does not rain!!!

My youngest son used to have severe asthma attacks from the age of 18 months, which required hospitalisation and steroids etc. Its very scary isnt it? Hope he is ok now.
The jug is fab by the way!

Well, aren't you so lucky to have friends who think of you. You now have me wondering who the complete stranger is that sent you the fleurs. I'm also glad the pretty little jug brightened your spirits. It is plain to me that you certainly deserved it! :-) Take care and give little man a hug for me!
