Tales of walking, eating, watching and playing. Vintage treasures and simple pleasures ... the things that make her happy.

She's on a roll ...

After finishing the sitting room ... she embarked on the kitchen ...
Walls painted, bricks hoovered, woodburner blackleaded.
Cookery books sorted, bookcase repainted.
Doors polished.
Chairs hoovered.
Shelves painted, jars cleaned.
Newspaper and vinegar on mirrors.
And ... floor washed!
The she collapsed in a worn-out heap on the chair made by Grandpa ...
... with a large piece of cake and a reviving brew!
Oh, and look what the postman delivered ...
... a present in the post from Tam of A Treasured Past
One of her original pendants made from a Hungarian stamp.
Beautifully packaged.

I've got that beaded bag on the back of your door, too! Your house looks immaculate and so interesting. I'd sell my soul for that Native American lady to be in my collection! x

Did Grandpa make the pretty cushion too? Glad your hard work was rewarded with cake and a prezzie!

I love the work that's been done here Jane, a huge amount of effort has obviously got into this and you deserve your present and your cake!

You've certainly been busy, and earned that cuppa and a slice of cake. Grandpa's chair is lovely :o)
If you have a couple of hours to spend I could use some help!

My goodness Marina! You have worked your poor little hands to the bone! Everything looks so clean and sparkly! I need to clear out my shelves in my bathroom and re-organize things.

But decided to take clear glass christmas balls and fill them with different things inside of them. I'm going to take the metal tops off and add glass glitter to them and put a beautiful french red ribbon that has Joyeux Noel on it. THEN, maybe I'll clean out my shelves! HAH.

Very lovely pendent, it looks like something I think you would wear. :)♥

Well done you, can you come and do my cottage please if you have any energy left? Love Grandpa's chair. Can I ask what you use to black lead your woodburner?
Happy Halloween.

I am a new follower of your lovely blog. I just happened upon it while looking through some other new ones. I was attracted first off by the name - my middle name is Jane - and second by the pictures of your lovely home. I can't wait to read more.

Do you have brain fever? or are you moving? These are the only two legitimate reasons I can think of for that level of cleaning! Looks fab but I think I needed a reviving cuppa after reading that lot!

Oh I am exhausted just reading about your cleaning exploits! Seriously everything looks fab, I really should knuckle down and do mine instead of going on the computer blog reading!!!

You have been VERY busy! Your house looks good though! I wish I had the stamina to follow your example. My house could do with a layer of paint and some cleaning up too.

What a lovely package you received!

Doesn't it just feel wonderful when the tasks are done - really satisfying - and to finish off what could be better than a cup of tea, piece of cake, and a lovely parcel to open.
