Foxes and Stags

The little sitting room had lost it's calling.
It was tired and drab.

The paintbrush brightened.
Furry throws cosied.
Sheepskin soft.

New cushions and lamp.
Foxes, stags and wild piggies.
Oak double glazed windows arriving soon ... woo, hoo -
no more whistling wind and puddled water on window sills.
She has a book OCD ... they have to be in order.
1949 Jeroboam size Champers bottle
Little books.
Skulls and claws.
Boot house dusted and re-arranged too!
Framed stag fabric scrap.
Gilded mirrors.
Reflected light.
Wood is chopped.  Chimney's swept.
The fires will blaze tonight.

I have book OCD too so I can perfectly understand the arrangement Jane. I loved all of these photos, what made me most happy though is the fact that you're getting double glazing in soon. I thought at the time that you didn't have double glazing was a real shame and hard to deal with during Winter so hopefully this helps!

As a child I loved those Observer's books, and now I am wondering whatever happened to mine?
Are you retaining the wooden sill? it looks such a good size and a lovely piece of character wood.

I'm afraid I don't have book ocd so I'm a bit bewildered as what you do when you want to read one...but I do have teaspoon ocd which can play havoc with the cutlery drawer when you want a cuppa!

Such a warm and inviting room. I love your new lamp, all your books (adore the little ones), everything! The framed fabric is wonderful. I could go on and on, but I can envision many happy hours there. You've inspired me to freshen up my room a bit.

The books are amazing and the way you have them arranged makes me wish I had a bit of that OCD. My books aren't even in one place. I love the fabrics and particularly the lamp you created. I always see these lost lamps at the Goodwill and never buy them because they have no shade, but now I may just buy a couple and make my own shades. Such inspiration!

How lovely! I know someone who is really keen on the shop where you got your lampshade and fox. That design looks wonderful and really makes their room look good even though it is a different style from yours. Having seen it in your room photos looking so good too I am starting to think I ought to pay the place a visit myself ...
