Loving Lego

They needed to get away for a while.
To act like children and have fun with their little man.

They set off for a hotel where they were greeted by a smokin’ dragon ...
... and by Her Majesty
The Legoland Hotel at Windsor, newly opened, especially for little people (and the young at heart).
They went on rides, held aloft in blue skies.
They were drenched by Vikings and rolled on big coasters ...
They submerged underwater with Mermaids and treasure (and real life rays and sharks)!

They went on a train and admired the wildlife ...
They witnessed brave battles ... and listened to tales of pirates.
They visited the Pharoahs ...
... and felt the 'Force' in the Galactic Republic.
They travelled the globe in Miniland.
The Sacre Couer and Moulin Rouge ...
Amsterdam ...
London ...
The Royal barge sailing on the Thames ...
The Changing of the Guard ...
Buckingham Palace ...
... and closer to home - Stonehenge and Glastonbury Tor
... and a little village near the sea ...
Yes, all made from Lego!

And then they stopped for a picnic, just like this lifesize Lego family ...

Later that evening, overloaded and overwhelmed by two days of Lego, they watched Jumbos  as they ate bowls of pasta at Carluccio's in the Arrivals area of Heathrow Terminal 5.  Oh yes, they know the best places to go for dinner!!

Have never been to Legoland - we did drive there once and it was shut! It looks a brilliant day out - amazing all the things and places made out of Lego!

They have a Legoland not far from here in one of the Malls. It's very expensive to take a child in there. It must be a very popular place because there are always long lines to get into the place. Of course, it doesn't look anything like The Legoland Hotel at Windsor. That is some place!!!

When we visited the Uk (a few years back) we had a list of "must do's" As a family of three we decided that three wishes each would suffice since we only had 4 weeks to do everything (in a rented camper van) My son chose - Hamleys (of course) Loch Ness (of course) and Lego Land. We (the grown-ups) were keen on the first two of his choices but we were dubious about the third... well we LOVED IT! It was so cute and so much fun and the play areas were great! Seeing our young man smiling from ear to ear and laughing together as we got drenched... we will definitely return. :-)

This place seems so awesome Jane, I've always wanted to go to Legoland but unfortunately things never worked out and fell into place which is a real shame.
