Fun in the Sun Searching for Treasures ...

A brief spell of sunshine and a chance to go treasure hunting ... she was happy!

Her favourite ... this gorgeous gal ...
Pretzel and bagel seller
Sold
Eastern European, or possibly Russian (her headdress is similar to some worn in the Tambov region of Russia).  Anyone have any ideas?
In amazing condition, making them chuckle every time they look at her!
And what is she ... a large, thickly padded cosy of some sort.  Maybe for a Samovar.
Two plaster statuettes ...
Blue figure sold
Beautiful teapot with hand painted cover in fab condition ...
Sold
Crown Derby two sectioned pot, with original spoons ...
Owl topped pot, needle dispenser, original school badges and King George V Silver Jubilee badges ...
Sweet little hob nailed boots, in amazing condition ...
Box of old photographic plates ...

... and lots more including a lovely old French roulette wheel, game mat and chips but in a freaky accident she dropped the wheel on the floor and chipped it.  Hoping it can be fixed.
Darning mushrooms, old cigarette card silks, more buttons ...

All will be coming to the next Sherborne Antiques fair on May 26th.

Goodness the doll is amazing with bagels and pretzels intact. Ooh, love the plaster figures, and little bits and bobs.

Hoping the wheel is easily mended.

Enjoy your weekend too, Tam x

The doll reminds me of so many people I know...
You're probably right in assuming her origin to be Russia, all signs point to that.
The boots are fabulous too.
You've certainly come home with some fantastic treasures Jane.
Enjoy the weekend

I've never seen anything like the doll, but she is fun--a bit of mischief in her smile. Love all your finds!

Marina,

You have such a great eye for selecting the best things. I was looking at the soles of those hob nailed boots and have never seen anything like them! I really like the chippy plaster statuettes especially the one in blue but only because I love the color blue. The brown colored one is nice too. (I didn't want to upset Mary) HA
