What's going on in Grandpa's Shed ... ?

This is Grandpa.  Aged about 3 years old.  Singing.  He still loves to sing and does it well.  'Danny Boy' brings tears to my eyes every time.
He loves wood.  Making miniature furniture is a particular talent of his.

A little cot (measures about 3 inches) ...
A folding screen, housekeepers box and chest of drawers.  Tongue and groove joints, tiny little knobs.
More chests of drawers.  About 4 inches high.

The blacksmith.  Grandpa made him a little toolbox.  The anvils are about 2 inches tall.
Eventually he will stand outside his forge.  This is the start of it ... the entrance - a Shire horse horseshoe!

Another work-in-progress is the flowerpot house ...
But, his main project at the moment is another one of these ...
A Boot House ... remember this one?
This is actually Boot House number three (the first went to a lady in Wales, the second is little man's very special heirloom).
Come on inside the shed and see ...
The first cut has been made.
Wooden floor is ready to go  in ...
Still lots to do ... the upper floors, roof, ladders, furniture ... I will try and do a regular update on the progress.
Grandpa's shed is one of little man's favourite places.  When I was a little girl it was my favourite place too ...
He collects miniature characters to add to his 'homes'.  Little oddities and curios.  The little spanner sets above are about 2 inches long.  The cat he has had forever.  He collects 'three wise monkey' trios too!
He still plays cassette tapes ... !  I love to sit and listen to his cheesy music while he natters about 'the old days'.

Apologies if I have not replied to your comments or have not commented on your blog recently ... blogger is challenging my IT skills!

What a sweet photo of your grandfather! I think it's wonderful that he still loves to make miniature furniture. No doubt that is what keeps him young.

Love the boot house!

I was knocked out with the boot home and family when you posted originally Marina. What a fabulous and talented man he is. He certainly puts his heart and soul (no pun intended) into these magnificent works - REAL family heirlooms :o)
Incidentally, does your grandad want to adopt another (older) Grandaughter?
