Sniffling through ...

Feeling cold, miserable, sniffly and snuffly, she craved warming, comfort food.

He cooked (in fact, he cooks most of the time) an ample dish of thinly sliced, waxy little potatoes, carrots, garlic, red peppers, smoked sausage and delicious German ham with a rich stock and herbs from their otherwise barren garden.
The potatoes soft, with crisped edges, the peppers sweet, the ham smoky and charred.
Just what she needed!

She spoiled herself the next day with a very expensive T&G haircut, followed by a girlie evening at a fab Fashion Show.
With a theme of World Cultures and four awards up for grabs from Alice Temperley, this young lady's design stole the show.  Inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations.
No more photos as amateur point and shoot camera was totally confused by flashing lights and glitter balls and didn't know what to focus on!

Suffice to say there was talent galore from some extremely creative and hard working young people.

Snuffles have diminished.

Today the sun is shining.  Trees are still.  Strong shadows cast from an ice blue sky on a windless day.  Negative temperatures but a beautiful day that draws a smile.

Jane,

The food looks deLish! Y~U~M~M~Y. I love comfort food as it warms the spirit and the soul. Looks like your fashion show was FUN!

Glad the sun is shining. It is really cold here today. I believe this will be the first weekend that we are to have "raw" temperatures. It was below freezing last night and only supposed to get to 40 today with rain tonight and tomorrow night and a chance of snow (the freezing rain kind). No accumulation though. Time to put on some thicker socks!

Hope you feel better soon, it seems to be going around down here too..Kade has been unwell with the cold all week, typical as it is only the second week of school.

Thanks for sharing the fabulous photos of Langport. Everyone is quite keen to return for another holiday...maybe one day.

Stay warm, Tam x
