Babcary Vintage Fair & Craft Market

What a lovely fair!  Greeted by a jaunty blue and white striped marquee of grand proportions, that ably withstood the gusty winds, stalls were set up and prettily arranged.  Organised by the charmingly flamboyant Carole of Vampilicious ...
Vampilicious had clothing from the ancient to the 80's - corsetry and gowns, fur trimmed capes and shoes to die for.
Capricious, glamourous, wearable pieces - legacies of fashion history.

Vertiginous platforms with mirror heels!
Yes, these are soaps!  Arranged daintily on pretty stands they looked good enough to eat and smelt divine.  Confections to spoil yourself or others with, topped with rosebuds and petals, created and beautifully packaged by Helen Izzard
Nostalgic, vintage inspired designs from the talented Lily & Mo ... so sweet.  Colourful softies in gorgeous fabrics, cushions and more.
Pickle Lily - cute gifts from a very creative lady.

There were lots more lovely stands but I didn't get a chance to photograph them all as my memory card was full.   Also, you must check out Merille Jane Photography - natural portaits and beautiful framed muted flower photos.

After a very successful day I treated myself to some divine chocolate from Chocacao, a gorgeous 70's velvet liberty print maxi skirt (from a lady who's name I didn't catch) and a little black something from Vampilicious!

As well as this being a successful fayre for Babcary (the monies raised are going to local causes), the overriding atmosphere was one of community, knowing your neighbour and belonging ...  The fayre was to be followed by a village Harvest Supper this evening.  As I left the music was being arranged and tables set - I wished I could stay ...

Oh, and sshhh, don't tell anyone but Pearl Lowe even paid us a visit!  AND, Sophia Loren's sister's amazing bespoke wolf skin coat was for sale there too!!

Thanks Carole ... I'm looking forward to the next fayre!
