The Tortoise and the Cactus

Sooper dooper day was had at Bridport Vintage Market yesterday - can't wait for the next one.  Will try and share some pics as soon as I get my life sorted.  In for a busy week ...

Just a few recent finds.   A cactus, tall, sleek, not too prickly and perfect for hanging beads and baubles or your beau's Fedora.
Now sold
The cactus has feet!  Supersized abacus.

Pretty little bamboo table on left.
Table on right sold to lady with penchant for tall wooden cacti!

Finally ... meet Herbie - a friend's very cute baby Tortoise being fed by little man.  Always wanted one of these when I was little.

So pleased you had a successful day at Bridport Marina. Had to laugh at the 'cactus' and loved the bamboo table too.
Aaah, Herbie is too cute! I had a secret hankering too as a child and used to watch Blue Peter avidly when they put the tortoise to bed for the winter :o)

I loved watching our babysitter's tortoise eating tomatoes when I was little - his gummy jaws fascinated me! Some great finds there, especially the little bamboo table.

Oh, I would love a tortoise! I've been hankering for years, but they really need a garden. They love dandelions, you know!

Hello Marina:
You really do manage on your travels to come across some most interesting, unusual and attractive items. We very much like the sold [sigh] little table as, somehow or another, we find ourselves permanently in need of such things.

As for Herbie, we too always thought it would be fun to have a tortoise - less sure nowadays!

I remember the Blue Peter one too! Lots of lovely bits and pieces there, especially the table and box - very cottagey.

Thank you for your lovely comment on Vicky's garden Marina, I know she will appreciate them very much.
I like to visit the local nursery every couple of months - but I go straight to the 'sale' dept for the perenial plants that have just 'gone over' them I plant them up ready for next season on a budget!

Lovely finds - I feel a bit weepy when I see pet tortoises. I had one and it had to be given to the zoo when we left the country. I used to go back to the zoo and think I spotted him, though...

Thanks for your comment about our staycation tick list. Frankly, Ben and I were stunned that the boys asked to do all the things we wanted to do anyway! What if they'd asked for stuff we hated/couldn't afford? It was a bit of a risk but it worked out well.
