Cubs & Cards ...

The little Beaver became a Cub Scout on Wednesday.  At Ham Hill they played amongst the stones, told tall tales and grilled porky bangers over flames.
Whilst the little ones did their thing, VJ and Mr walked through the woods, and tried to avoid the strange creature that rushed at them, protecting it’s leafy lair.

A brief interlude was enjoyed at the local Inn with the lovely ‘Town Tree gal’ and a glass of golden nectar.  Then they went to witness their little man hold up his hand, palm forward, thumb resting on digitus minimus, swearing on his honour to do his duty to God, Queen and country, to help others at all cost and to know and obey the Cub Scout law.  Phew!

The little cub (a wolf cub that is - she feels a little silly now because she always thought they were cute little bear cubs!) surveys his Queen's country pensively.

Cards have been sold and more were needed to replenish the stocks so the following afternoon was spent with gluey fingers, pretty bobs and bits of this an’ that.   A few of these were made …

… and then a few more.  Plenty for the antiques fair tomorrow and Vintage market next Sunday.

Apologies for showing cards again.  VJ has sold a few of these on line recently and doesn’t mind doing so – if you ever see anything you fancy … don’t be shy … just let her know.  She will hopefully launch an online shop soon … when the powers to be agree the recently submitted plan to change the number of hours in a day from 24 to 27.5 hours.
