A Crafty Thursday

I spent most of yesterday making greetings cards.  I photographed a few to share here.

I love making them and they seem to sell well.

I decided to set the day aside and try to be creative!

I love getting out my jars of buttons and bag of lace and trimmings.

Any embroidered pieces that have holes or stains that cannot be removed are saved for upcycling into cards, cushions, brooch hearts or lavender bags.

The odd vintage photo gets used as well.

Old tape measures and thread cards were put to good use.

And when I became bored of making those, I got out my shabby collection of vintage maps and stamps, added my old airmail stamp and made lots of these ...

Japan

Portugal

Italy

Now, this one was a puzzle ... the stamps all said 'Magyar'.  Having no idea where this was I have to admit to googling it, only to find out the stamps were from Hungary.  So, apologies to the authors of one of my favourite blogs, HATTATT, for being such a dimwit!

I am looking after my friend's shop at Barrington Court at the weekend.  Really looking forward to it - despite assuring them that it is not, they think it is a huge 'ask' and inconvenience for me but I love it.  Such a delightful place to be.  I helped them out last summer too and met some lovely, friendly, interesting people.
