Fading Grace gave me an award! I am not sure that I deserve it …
Anyway, the rules state that I must thank the giver. Of course, thank you Ms Grace … I am honoured! I must also pass the award on to 7 other worthy recipients. Hmm, I read so many fantastic blogs, all of them different, visual, interesting, some thought provoking, some light hearted - but I love them all. Some of the blogs I read already have awards and some have a 'no awards' policy and so, after much thought, I am going to pass this award to:
Now, I also have to reveal 7 things about myself that you may not already know. This is hard and won’t be very exciting … but I’ll try:
1) I once appeared on 'Can’t Cook, Won’t Cook' with Ainsley Harriott. My dad was the one doing the cooking. I just sat there and laughed my way through it. Dad managed to spray cream everywhere by lifting the electric mixer out of the bowl when spinning at high speed, whilst singing a cracking rendition of “House of the Rising Sun” at the same time!
2) I love chocolate, that's not a flippant remark … I really LOVE it. I give up chocolate for Lent every year but the rest of the time I eat at least one bar every day. Amazingly, I am still the same size 8 that I was when I left school (in 1983 – you do the maths!) but am sure it will hit me one day. Either I have a fast metabolism or it’s due to the fact that I can’t sit still for more than five minutes.
3) I used to teach T’ai Chi Ch’uan. Loved practising it and teaching. I taught alongside, and was mentored by an amazing woman in her 70’s who had had a colourful life beset with much tragedy. She spotted me in my early teens and encouraged me to train with her. She told me tales of wisdom. When she died I no longer wanted to continue with T’ai Chi and never have since.
4) I have climbed to the summit of Huayna Picchu, the mountain to the south of Machu Picchu.
On the flight to Peru I was accused of stealing $5000. A Peruvian woman sitting behind me accidentally left her life savings in the toilet(!) and accused me of going in after her and stealing it. However, I knew that a man sitting a few rows in front had gone in after her and before me. The woman was crying hysterically, everyone was staring at me, including my Mr! I told the cabin crew my version of the story. The plane touched down to refuel at Aruba and we were ushered off into a holding area whilst a search took place. Peruvian man was found to have the money down his trousers. Peruvian woman who previously hated me, became my new best friend. Peruvian man comes back on plane because Aruban police don’t want the hassle! He glares at us menacingly all the way to Lima. Plane lands and we do a runner before angry Peruvian man does something unthinkable to us. Fly to Cuzco and enjoy rest of trip.
5) Don’t laugh but … I used to have a mohican. My ever tolerant dad used to shave the sides of my head on a Friday and then I’d go off clubbing. NO, there will not be a photo!!
6) I have a coin OCD. If coins are on a table I have to have them all placed ‘heads up’. Don’t know why, just can’t help it.
7) I have several ‘older man crushes’, guilty pleasures … call it what you like – Robert Plant (in jeans!), Whispering Bob’s voice, Tom Waits and, can’t believe I’m owning up to this … Seasick Steve!

mine is going to sound unbearably mediocre in comparison!
xx
I'm sorry but that is really not fair...the chocolate thing!!!!!!
You deserve the award especially as you have such wonderful taste in vintage china dogs called Archie. I like your 7 interesting things...Peruvian hysterical women story did make me laugh! what a nightmare xx
Sophie
I agree with Sophie, it is not fair that you can eat chocolate and be a size 8. Just writing the word has put two pounds on around my middle!!

There is nothing shameful about having a crush on Sea Sick Steve. The man is seriously attractive.
Love your list of things - really great! What a wonderful adventure you have had - going to Peru! Would we ever have know all these things otherwise? Well deserved award!
