Is there anything more wonderful than Christmas decorating with little ones?
With fires lit and carols playing ...
Their addictive excitement.
A new decoration chosen by little man each year.
Hanging stockings by the fire.
Decorating the sparkly 'tree',
with gold and diamonds!
After a little break ...
They wrapped gifts ...
And basked in a little winter sun streaming through the (new!) windows ...
And when all was done ...
... in the candle and fairylight glow,
they ate platefuls of puffy Toad-in-the-hole
with lashings of onion gravy.
And watched Miracle on 34th Street.
They believe ...

Christmas through the eyes of a youngster is magic. I love your tree, it looks really sparkly and attractive. I am feeling guilty that I haven't put one up, maybe twigs is the way to go to ease my conscience. Thanks for the idea.
Aha, I've been pondering on an alternative tree and you've just nailed it for me. Yours looks so pretty! x
It's all beautiful but I particularly love the sparkly tree. This is such a cool lovely idea! Next year, this will be my kind of tree. Sadly, too late for this year. :)
There is nothing like the genuine joy, wonder, and excitement you describe with a little one. Everything looks so warm and festive and cozy.
I love that sparkly tree...it's gorgeous! And, what pray tell is toad-in-the-hole? I've never heard of that before! Ha That shouldn't surprise you Marina! Ha
I can see how pretty your gifts are wrapped and all of the special attention you've given to the smallest details Very creative! I just bet the people who receive these goodies will love the wrappings as much as the gifts! :)
Stay warm and have a cuppa for me! :)
P.S. I know I'm not a robot because sometimes it takes me 3 times before I can type the right word and see the numbers I'm supposed to type. Ha
Oh yes....it must be the magic of the conduit that made us think the same thoughts.....nothing like children to make Christmas extra special.....wishing you and yours a Christmas full of magic and wonder x
Oh Lovely. Putting up the Christmas decorations is just so wonderful. Taking every thing out of the box, greeting it like an old friend, reminiscing about who made it and when. Our littlest is already fretting about where his christmas stocking is on an almost hourly basis.
You can't beat a lovely tree with home made or vintage decorations...
I've not had a tree, since my daughter went off to Uni, 18yrs ago.
But, l do have my crib, and, that's quite elaborate...! :)
Oh! don't forget...To-day (Friday) is 'Christmas Jumper' day..Just seen an interesting item on BBC Breakfast...All the big Pully's with knitted snowballs, reindeer and other festive things...Great!
I loved this post but the thing about it that struck me the most was that wonderful bit about "sun"!
Oh sun, you SAW it????
Glory be, that was a miracle in itslef!
Sun-starved of Dorset!
xx
I've just discovered your lovely blog - a bit of an early xmas treat I would say! I love your post - it captures perfectly the joy I am feeling sharing xmas with my wee boy, hubby and dog (well maybe not the dog - he has no respect for the darn tree!). Love, love, love the pretty peek into your world. Becks xxx
It the best to have children around at Christmas time it makes it all magical.

Little ones make all the difference! Lovely pics.
Sweet post. I'm ridiculously excited about the thought of toad in the hole and onion gravy! Yum! xx
Beautiful decorations. I love your sparkly tree. Best Christmas Wishes to you and your family, Pj x
OHhh! I would love to try toad-in-the-hole with lashings of onion gravy-and I would love to hear you say it!
If only the magic didn't go when we and the children grow up. My two aged 26 and 28 still want their stockings if they are both home for Christmas which this year they are.
Awww Sending the blessings of the season to you and yours and loving your beautiful Christmas decorations.
OOh yes Christmas is magical *****
and seen through the eyes our young ones, even more so...
Love Maria x
Buonasera cara Marina.
Che belle immagini di Natale, come vorrei essere lì..nella tua meravigliosa terra, che nostalgia!
Un abbraccio, *Maristella*.
My grandchildren are coming round on sunday to decorate their tree here.I love to see them do it and this year will be the last time since they emigrate to Aus in may next year. I love to see their smiley faces and yes they do believe and its wonderful.
I love the Twiggy Tree! It reminds me of my childhood when my mother and I decorated twigs for Christmas with "glitter wax" flowers. Nobody I Know seems to remember glitter wax. You softened it in your warm hands & shaped little sparkly flowers which could be stuck to the twigs before they hardened.
To me the best thing about Christmas is seeing the excitement in the faces of children and the decorations as well. These photos are great Jane and I really do love the Christmas tree idea as well!
Thats true!
I have never been on for Christmas decoration ( although I do like looking at it!) Together with the kids it's a totaly different story : )
It all sounds and looks wonderfully Christmassy in your household!
How lovely to have young ones around as they make it so magical - my daughter adores Christmas and between us we enjoy the preparations so much, but at nearly 18 its not the same as the little ones!
Have a wonderful Christmas!
Gill xx
