She has a bathroom ...

Some terrible photos,
but hopefully you'll get the idea!
The revamped trunk, textured gold cushion
and an oar rescued from a dump many years ago.
Champagne bucket holds their shampoos and shower gels.
Old wooden bowl sprayed with a mellow gold holds lovely French soaps.
(yes, she's been at it with the spray paint again!).
Mirror pinched from the living room.
New square sink.
The sink sits on a lucky Ebay find.
She still can't believe it was the perfect size!
The bath sits on oak block offcuts from a local timer yard.
A bargain at a fiver each!
Mr VJ planed, sanded and oiled them.
The shelf is an oak offcut too.
The tiles are a very dark blackish brown with a subtle
rusty, oily looking sheen.
Just don't look upwards though - there is still work to do!
The ceiling is one and a half heights high and so to make
extra space the water tank has been moved up into the ceiling.
The Mr is going to make oak doors to hide it
and make some extra cupboard space
(a ladder will be needed to reach it though,
so only seldom used items will live in there.
Who else stores their Christmas tree in the bathroom?!!
The Mr is going to make oak doors to hide it
and make some extra cupboard space
(a ladder will be needed to reach it though,
so only seldom used items will live in there.
Who else stores their Christmas tree in the bathroom?!!
The wall above still needs to be painted.
Their little girl is liking it rather a lot,
especially the underfloor heating.
So after 15 years she has running hot water
and one room in the house with heating!  Result!

How fabulous, to finally have the bathroom of your dreams - that little sink is really precious, and looks as if it were made for the stand! Very envious of the roll top bath...
