Sharing some recent finds ...

Large Barbola mirror,
adorned with cherubic mermaids, seashells, fruits and flowers ...

 and trimmed with a bow.
Sadly, the silvering has crazed all over, but I still love it!
A gorgeous, ruffly, chocolate flake hat with brown velvet crown
 Three little books ...
Heidi (my favourite childhood story), Little Women and Kidnapped

Lovely big enamelled bread bin, white china mould and enamel spoon
 Enamelled pans
Time worn thatching tool

Victorian hoop
I can push it with a stick, but I can't hula, no matter how hard I try!
Sweet little wartime French phrase book ... with a few phrases in German!
Pretty lidded basket and hand painted Royal Doulton china

Gorgeous hat block
Beautifully used, a few pins still embedded into the wood
A remnant of Kaffe Fassett 'Chard' fabric
Such an original design

All will be coming to the next Sherborne Antiques Fair on Saturday 28th July

WOW! Absolutely AMAZING finds. I want them all. That Barbola mirror has to be one of the best I have ever seen. Has it sold yet? I love it so much but I wouldn't be able to come collect it. Booo for living in the big bad city. You probably want to keep it for yourself anyway I am guessing. Such beautiful treasure. xx

Wonderful finds! I especially like the "chocolate flake" hat (great name), the hat block, and the book with "a few phrases in German"!

What is it about enamel pans that want to make you cook 'hearty stew' ? Got some really treasures there! Ada :)

Hi Marina,

You certainly have picked up some nice items! I love the Royal Doulton china cups and the basket!

I bet everything you purchased will be sold at Sherborne! :)

BTW: I used to hula pretty good when I was a kid but I don't know if I could do it anymore. Maybe it would help trim my waist down? Think?

I love that mirror! What great finds - the hat is very unusual and I'm fascinated by the Victorian hoop.

What an amazing mirror frame - and I rather like damaged silvering. (Maybe because it helps hide the ravages of age on my face!) Beautiful enamel wares and other finds, especially the phrase book!

All I can say is wow! The mirror is amazing! I have never seen a barbola mirror with cherubs, I hope you are considering to keep it, it must be quite rare.

Sorry, I am a little behind in your posts :(

The little clay men are fab, they remind me of morph. I do like the kids people, they are very cute, and so individual.

The photos of Lego land look great, it makes me wish that we went there now, of well, at least we can live it through your pictures.

I Hope you are all well, Tam x

Love the Barbola mirror, and even better with the silvering crazed, just how I like them! Sorry I didn't see you at the vintage rag, I meant to find you and say hello.

Dear Jane, the mirror is absolutely wonderful. I would buy it at once cause I love, love, love mermaids. I think blind mirrors are so romantic and magical. That wouldn't bother me.
All your other finds are great, too. Hugs from Miss Maple
