Her little entrepreneur ...

... the bug is catching ...
hunting for treasure,
being creative.
Her little man was looking at his dad's vinyl collection,
wondering what they were and how they worked!
She reminisced about the sound, the smell and the feel,
the brilliant artwork on the covers.
She remembered making bowls out of a few 'dodgy' albums.
Little man was intrigued and wanted to have a go himself.
He bought some old albums from their local charity shop,
with his own pocket money ...
and made his own bowls.
(with doors wide open and a mask on - the fumes are not good)
Each one unique!

He is hoping to have a little stall at their village Christmas sale.

    I think these are brilliant!
    I've even seen them converted into wall clocks....45's and LP's.
    Quite expensive to buy to!
    Though...I'd never subject my old Motown from the 60's to it...!

    It's an idea if he checks the records before hand! As they may be worth something....! :).

    I'm not surprised to hear that your son is developing a love for vinyl records, he has incredibly good taste but that's good taste that's been passed down by his mum and dad, brilliant post.

    I love making those - I have to wait for husband to let me have the ones that don't play very well though - he is quite possessive with his record collection! The shellac ones are good to make, but quite fragile!

    What a great project! I remember the first time my oldest son tried to listen to some of our records. He was busy with them for quite a while and then came and said, "they are really great but I can only get them to play half of the songs". We realized he didn't know you had to turn them over.

    How sweet! I bet he sells out!! Who could NOT purchase one from him? Sounds like he is following in mom's foot steps and has the "bug" too.

    How's your weather? It is still around 90 F here but the mornings are a bit cooler now. It's still extremely humid...try 95%... I 'm soaking wet after my morning walk. Hope you and family are well.:-)

    all us middle aged old farts will go in to meltdown over these. A trip down memory lane, do you remeber... I used to have.... I predict he will make a packet. Or at least enough to be able to download some tunes of his own.
    What will our kids kids be repurposing and what will they create from the mountains of old mobile phones and computers?

    I actually did that with my friends when I was a kid. I thought we invented it. One of my friends had a father who worked for Decca Records and used to bring us blank discs. We heated them, molded them, and sold them to the neighbors as candy dishes for 25 cents each. Thanks for the memories!
