Walking a sunshine path to a field by the river,
scattered with young lovers and family picnics
(they fell somewhere between the two!).
Lying quietly.
A static buzz and hum of myriad insect life.
Watching mum and her downy babies ...
Refuelling with juice and cake.
Quiet contemplation and appreciation ...
... of the beauty surrounding them.
Later they returned to the river,
to join revellers at 'The Party by the Parrett',
dancing to old punk favourites and new ska.
Walking home on dancing feet,
along footpathed fields.
The river's silvered current, their silent guide.
Bass boom and laughter carried on warm breeze.
Owl hoots and heron flight.
