... sitting in the sun, doing ... nothing!
Children happily playing ...
splashing, bouncing and kicking a ball.
Hats on and spritzed with sunscreen.
Stopping for a while to make friendship bracelets,
little foreheads furrowed with concentration.
Sheltered from the world beyond they made a little paradise.
They even managed an indulgent al fresco cream tea,
complete with Pimms ... !
Glowing embers warmed the early evening air.
Little ones tucked up in sleeping bags, dreaming fresh air dreams.
The grown-ups 'pow-wowed' around the fire.
Chatting lazily, blankets on knees. Feasting on good food ...
... a spicy lentil chilli cooked by Mr VJ ...
and hot potatoes, crisped and smoky.
Dear friends ... you are a lovely bunch. x
Today the rain falls steadily but she has happy, sunny memories ...

Happy Days - happy memories. So what if we only have summer in short bursts instead of day after day of the same old sunshine ( hahaha). But hoping for more sunny days soon when our Number One Aussie daughter visits. Cx

ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and following my blog, I've just followed back.
We must be near neighbours! I don't often visit the Sherborne antiques and flea, but I do visit the book market once a month and the Bath & West Flea and antiques markets.
It really is a small world! Barbara
