The Queen

Her Majesty came to their nearest town, so they went to see her.
They waved the Union flag, listened to the band and sang God Save The Queen.   The atmosphere was uplifting.  They felt proud to be British.
Resplendent in lilac she gave a regal waved and smiled at the crowds.
A sea of red, white and blue fluttering in the breeze.

Fantastic! It takes me back to the Silver Jubilee - I was one of those flag-waving children (in Brownie uniform, personally)... Thanks for your comments about all my maps, vintage and piratical!
